Village Fete
The Village Fete has been an annual event in Speen continuously since 1959.
The early fetes were held in Major Caldwell’s meadow, at the back of The White House of Speen, but are now held on the Playing Fields at the back of the King William IV.
In 2020 the fete had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 restrictions at the time, this was the first and only time that Speen has not held its annual fete.
Many of the village organisations have a representative on the Fete committee, and they are responsible for planning and presenting the Fete each year. The current chair is Clare Morris.
All of the proceeds from the each Fete are ploughed back to support the various organisations within the village, in some years there is a particular project that requires extra funds, but in 2022 it has been decided that this ‘special project’ will be our Local UK TO UKRAINE Group
